Adapted Toy Lending Libraries
RePlay for Kids is expanding our services by partnering with local libraries to create Adapted Toy Lending Libraries throughout Ohio. These partnerships help make adapted toys more accessible to children with disabilities by allowing families to borrow them directly from their local library.
Bringing Adapted Toys to Families Through Ohio Libraries
RePlay for Kids provides the adapted toys and accessibility switches, while participating libraries pair each toy with a companion book to encourage learning, play, and engagement.
Families can check out adapted toys just as they would books, giving children the opportunity to explore and enjoy toys that match their abilities and interests at no cost.
How It Works
- RePlay for Kids provides adapted toys and switches (with funding support from local foundations and donors).
- Participating libraries provide a companion book for each toy.
- Families borrow adapted toys through their local library system.
- Toys are available for loan according to each library’s policies and procedures.
We are excited to partner with libraries across Ohio to increase access to adapted toys and ensure that more children with disabilities have opportunities to learn, play, and thrive.
